COMMUNITY SERVICES IN WATTS AND SOUTH CENTRAL LOS ANGELES.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/MFT):  Under the supervision of the General Manager, the LCSW will supervise and coordinate service plans and case management for youth participants, their families, and homeless clients in conjunction with designated Case Managers.  Will supervise case managers and interns, and work intensively with clients and program participants who need support in individual or family counseling and oversee the development and implementation of individual and family-based case management plans.  Candidate must have at lease 4 years of clinical supervision experience working with minority youth and families are required.  A State of California licensed practitioner preferred, however individual in the process of obtaining their license will be considered.

 

Passenger Vehicle Driver:

Requires at least one-year experience driving commercial passenger vehicles on a fixed route. Must have a valid class “A” or “B” Drivers License, with “P” endorsements, first aid, CPR, medical and air breaks certificates, DMV H6 printout demonstrating a good driving record and must submit to drug screening as required by Federal and State Laws.  Job requires daily preventive maintenance, pre and post-trip inspections, passenger and fare reporting.

 

Elderly MPC Passenger Vehicle Driver:

Requires at least one-year experience driving commercial passenger vehicles transporting elderly and/or disabled clients. Must have a valid class “A” or “B” Drivers License, with “P” endorsements, first aid, CPR, medical and air breaks certificates, DMV H6 printout demonstrating a good driving record and must submit to drug screening as required by Federal and State Laws.  Required to obtain a DOT permit within one month of employment. Job requires daily preventive maintenance, pre and post-trip inspections, passenger and fare reporting.

 

Food Services Driver:

Under the supervision of the Food Service Coordinator, operate temperature-controlled vans for meal delivery to either homebound participants or congregate meal sites.  Perform other meal delivery duties, including pick-up and transport of raw foods and other donated materials. Responsible for maintaining records of time, mileage and other data requested by Supervisor.  Requires daily maintenance of service vehicle including, cleaning, refueling, vehicle inspections, checking for vehicle defects and submitting on daily reports. Must have a valid class “B” Drivers License, DMV H6 printout demonstrating a good driving record and must submit to drug screening as required by Federal and State Laws and submit to annual TB Testing.  Requires a minimum of one-year driving experience, preferably in a community service organization. Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds. Must be knowledgeable in safe food handling and sanitation requirements. Requires High school diploma or GED equivalent.

 

Transportation Coordinator:

Under the supervision of the Multipurpose Center Director, the Coordinator/Dispatcher will be responsible for the smooth operation of the Door-to-Door transportation Program. Responsibilities will include assisting the Multipurpose Center’s Program Director in coordinating the activities of the Door-to-Door Transportation Program. Dispatching trips via two-way radio. Compiling, verifying and recording data from drivers daily vehicle log reports, Keeping accurate files on all project related materials, invoices, requisitions, and client records with the required eligibility information.  Coordinator and participates in all required drivers training activities.  Will be responsible for transporting clients as needed. Must have a valid class “B” Drivers License, DMV H6 printout demonstrating a good driving record and must submit to drug screening as required by Federal and State Laws and submit to annual TB Testing.  Must be familiar with dispatch operations, be able to use a Thomas Guide and knowledge of the local community. Requires a minimum of one-year driving experience, preferably in a community service organization. Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds. Must be knowledgeable in safe food handling and sanitation requirements. Requires High school diploma or GED equivalent.

 

Web Designer/Graphic Artist:

Design, create, produce and maintain web pages using relevant software, and produce artwork, layouts for reproduction in print and electronic media for distribution of information regarding ongoing services, upcoming events, and special projects.  Responsible for the preliminary and final product.  Ability to communicate well and work closely with pertinent staff to determine plan concepts, illustrations, and approvals.  Five years experience with related credentials.

 

Case Manager:

Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Case Manager will be responsible for the intake and assessment of the needs of homeless clients, as well as those referred by other agencies, including single adults, women and families with children, the homeless mentally ill and chronic substance abusers.  Will be required to deliver on-going case management for homeless and at-risk clients/families, including assistance resolving landlord-tenant relations when possible, assistance with money management, client advocacy with public assistance programs, and assistance with finding permanent housing, and other services identified as necessary to help stabilize the household.  Requires a B/A in Sociology or its related fields.  Must have at least four years of experience in delivery of direct services to homeless clients.  Bilingual desired. This position required a high level of tolerance, patience, and schedule flexibility.

Property Manager:

Under the Supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, will oversee the performance of income-producing commercial and residential properties owned and/or leased by WLCAC.  B/A or better in real estate, business administration, public administration, or related field.  Minimum of five years experience in all aspects of property management and demonstrated experience in managing 100 units or more with supervisory responsibilities. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills, have a driver’s license, and ability to interact with tenants and regulatory authorities.  Computer competency required.

 

Purchasing Agent:

Responsible for coordinating activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools parts, and supplies for organization.  Required to review requisitions. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.  Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.  Determines methods of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.  Reviews bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.  Approves invoices for payment.  Expedites delivery of goods to users.  Will be required to provide a monthly report to the Corporate Financial Officer or designated management staff.

 

Development Administrative Assistant: Under the supervision of the Development Director, will assist in every aspect of the development preparation and submission of grant proposals and administrative support in the daily operational activities, and ensure the smooth completion of assignments and proficiency of problem solving. Manage and maintain databases, boilerplate information and documents for accuracy, and completeness. Requires three years of experience in related field.  Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be proficient in Internet research and use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and all clerical skills.

 

Program Director:

Will supervise the overall activities of the Southeast LA Watts Family Development Network Program and will serve as liaison to the City of Los Angeles.  Will be responsible for hiring and training staff.  Developing Detailed plans to implement recruitment, participant assessment, and services to be provided by the Program.  Coordinate services provided at the program site and other locations in the community.  Will be required to ensure that all reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner. Requires at least three years of program management experience in social services delivery system/program.  A B/A Degree in Public or Business Administration or in one of the behavioral Science in desirable.  Must have excellent verbal ad writing communications skills. A valid Calif. Class “C” Driver’s License is required.
